MassHealth (Medicaid)
The division of Medical Assistance (the Division) manages MassHealth, which provides health care benefits to low and medium-income families, living in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.  The Division offers these benefits to recipients directly, or by paying part of all of health insurance premiums.  MassHealth provides financial coverage for certain residents, age 65 or older that require long-term care services.

Medicare Advocacy Project (MAP)
MAP provides free legal representation to Medicare beneficiaries throughout the Commonwealth on Medicare and Medicare-related issues.  MAP advocates also provide advice, outreach and training on Medicare.  MAP’s mandate is to insure that Massachusetts Medicare beneficiaries receive the Medicare and Medicare-related coverage to which they are entitled.

SHINE (Serving Health Information Needs of the Elderly)
Provides free health insurance counseling services to elderly and disabled adults. SHINE volunteer counselors are trained to handle complex questions about Medicare, Medicare supplements, Medicare Health Maintenance Organizations, Medicaid, free hospital care, prescription drug assistance programs, drug discount cards, and long-term health insurance.
